    ... on the west coast, we have to watch the sun go down over the pacific - its the law, and a very beautiful law. Then its back over the footbridge to the motel and the hot tub.     ... and head to the beach which is beautiful. There are surfers in the sea and its fun to relax on the beach and watch them ride the waves. The other thing that is amazing is the amount of huge houses throughout Malibu in the hills. You can understand why so many of the rich and famous decide to live there.

    August 13th – Left Newport Beach and drove to Ventura where we checked in at the Ventura Beach RV resort. It was 64 degrees outside at 5PM!


    August 14th - We had lunch at Johnny's Mexican Restaurant (on the Avenue),where Dex had been a steady patron about 40 years ago. The food was as good now as it was back then! We shopped Trader Joe’s for some wine and then drove down Canada Largo Rd. ...

    ... and if there is anything I can do to make it any better, you just tell me. And ......'you're welcome' after every sentence. And....when you select something on the menu.....well, besides being their personal favourite.....it's a wonderful choice! And as we leave the restaurant ....well you just carry on having a wonderful evening and great night. The trouble is, none of it sounds sincere.

    ... place that very much reminded me of Cathedral Cove in NZ, the McWay Falls. The Falls drop from the top of the cliff to a little beach at the bottom which is pretty much inaccessible by land. It would be a great place for a picnic. But one-man picnics are never much fun so I jumped back in the car and carried on.
