      ... returned to find us perched on a chair, wrapped in towels to protect us from the sun and on the verge of complete female hysteria due to man eating squirrels. A cheese sandwich later and feeling a little calmer, we decided to pay 15 bucks extra and upgrade to a premium camp site 100 yards away where squirrels somehow decided not to go near.       ... and the traffic was expected to be awful. Luckily we were on the road early enough and managed to get to Ventura at a reasonable hour.

      Ventura is one of LA's northern beaches and is a favourite getaway for Angelenos. It is north of Santa Monica beach. The camp site we have arrived at is not quite what we were expecting but will do for our first night back in the RV.

      Last Saturday evening October 12th, we packed up as much as we reasonably could as we tomorrow are heading over the Sierra Nevada. For days the professional weather guessers, errrrr, forecasters have been predicting warm and sunny weather through the weekend and beyond. Saturday afternoon the clouds started to roll in.       ... Wet Wednesday" evening race. We were invited to watch it from their second story deck. It was a quick race as it didn’t start until 6 and sundown is around 7. The race is out in the ocean and the race committee runs it from their second floor deck via radio.
