When we first got to Auckland, the weather wasn’t nice as it was pouring rain. We had just came from the beautiful island of Fiji and now we have bad weather. I miss Fiji already. After we got to the hostel, we found out that we have pay for internet and it was slow. That made Mom mad and she told the guy that we had just been to South America where it was free plus it was fast.

Larissa was waiting for us as we walked through into the arrival hall. Still that very strange feeling in our tummies but very glad to see Larissa and even more glad when all of our luggage ...

I am back in New Zealand, almost exactly 5 months after first landing there and starting the first part of my travels alone...

The journey to the island was a rocky 30 minute trip. there were walks all over the island, but the main one was an hours walk to the summit of the volcano. It was a good trek up, and the views from the top, of mainland Auckland and the surrounding islands were fabulous. We took a hike around the summit and also stopped off at the lava caves. ... The ships plight has made it to the local papers with a half page account as well as being on the local radio. (I dread to think of the comments that some of the passengers may have made) A final bit of retail therapy and full of expectation we returned to the ship full of anticipation for tonight, will we, won't we, do we want to, how far will we get. You'll have to read the next instalment. (I'm slowly getting the hang of this suspender suspense thing)

We were only there for 2 days but that is probably enough to see the major sights, as it's not like a visit to Paris or Rome where there is so much history you can return time and time again. There's an excellent hop-on, hop-off bus that takes in the sights and the main museum, although the latter was a little disappointing with lots of interesting artefacts but ...

... I got stopped at the airport for carrying some strange items. I was detained at the airport for like 4 hours!!! My kangaroo sign was a great laugh for the Kiwi security. Other things were not!!! (thats all I am going to say about that)
