        A scary place to stay, but we did. At 3am we were woken up to an almighty crash, nearly knocking us outta bed. On checking... nothing. Can only assume it was an earthquake. Drove straight to San Fran in the morning.

        We can't quite work out the best way to get motels some of the deals you can get online seem to be unbeatable compared to just walking in and asking the rates, but that requires Internet and that's not always available, we have also found out that if you just turn around and say sorry it's beyond our budget they often drop a few dollars but not always, we have tried looking up the rates then walking in but they have gone up and they won't reduce them so we went ...
