just before Logan Pass and I wanted to stop quickly for a picture. As we were driving to it, we had to stop as
several mountain goats were in the road.
As the goats got off the road, we drove past slowly to get some great
        pictures of these beautiful creatures.
It was two adults and three kids, grazing along the side of the road and

The last week of July, we went to Glacier National Park in Montana for a week of hiking and exploring. We flew out of RDU early Saturday morning. Somewhere along the way, Chris lost his ID. Fortunately, TSA allowed him to board with just his firefighter ID and a Costco card. For the rest of the trip, his trail name was Costco. We had a layover in Minneapolis and arrived ...

... to Glacier Park we saw lots of dry dusty ranch land, white dust replacing the white steam. Lunch in Bozeman, cut through Helena (unfortunately no view of the Capitol for Patrick). Stayed in Glacier Trail Head Cabins in Babb, just outside the park. Last part of the drive through a large Blackfeet Reservation. Always interesting and a little sad and sobering to view what the Rez is like, living on the east coast makes you less mindful of this aspect of our ...

... tour. We saw a lot, and it was nice having the commentary from the driver. We started at the lodge and continued onto Marias Pass, Lake McDonald Valley, Going-to-the-Sun Road, Logan Pass, and St. Mary Valley.

We stopped at many places along the way.

We stopped for lunch at McDonald Lodge.
