    The second longest day of driving today. We traveled 395 miles and it took nearly 8 hours. After leaving Island park we headed up through secondary highways until we reached the I-90.

    At last we can sit down and catch up with our 4 day exploration of The Glacier National Park area of Montana.

    We finished our Icefields drive in Calgary and did a little bit of exploring of the city with 2 lovely ladies from the newly formed Calgary Greeters. It was very cold and very windy so the ladies took pity on us and walked us through some of the more sheltered areas and parks of downtown.

    ... both wearing our Yosemite jackets. Weather is a little hazy due to forest fires in Washington State. Check in time is 4 but we are lucky as room is really and we are able to check in at 2.

    ... and now we could see why. Chris was able to show a couple from Europe that had been travelling all through Yellowstone and Glacier for the last 2 weeks and hadn’t seen a single bear and were leaving the next morning. They were wrapped and Chris was very happy to get to help them see their first bear.
