We woke up early to enjoy the beach and hoped to see dolphins but no luck. The beach was stunning though. We had breakfast and packed up to leave. They gave us a CD on check out from the Inn of romantic beach music! Such a nice touch. I was sad to leave. It was so nice there.

We have driven 7748 km since leaving Edmonton and exactly 1700 km since leaving Key West, the most Southern point of our trip. The day starts ominously as I put my foot through the ****** of my riding jeans while donning them. The ******/inner thigh material suffers the most as it is in constant contact ...

The #1 Beach in the USA, the Mezes and Johnson

Despite our abysmal trip through Alligator Alley we had a lovely drive as we headed north out of Florida. Once on the gulf coast Lew and I decided to stop at Siesta Key. The key is proudly adorned with signs proclaiming it the #1 Beach in the USA. It was quite beautiful, but none of the beaches were dog friendly. That leaves it's rankings far below the #1 ranking it boasts, but I'll post photos and allow you to decide for yourself.

After an interminable ...
