We woke up in our fantastic hotel room that Mum had booked ages ago and we decided to have breakfast in bed,our only room service so far. It was great and everyone had a good brekky.

I am sure everyone wants to know my gas mileage. From Gilroy to Menlo Park was 8 mpg and from MP to Reno to Carson City was 8.74. That 8.74 included the climb up 80 in the Sierras and the mountain I told you about in the previous paragraph.
Every time I get cocky and think I have this motor homing thing under control, I am reminded that I DON'T control much.

Warning: This is a long entry. Seems I have finally found my voice.
Left Petaluma on Tuesday morning (Sep 3), heading for Rocklin (101 miles) and an overnight stay in the Camping World parking lot. My first parking lot experience and it turned out just fine.
Used the MH batteries to power lights and water pump to access water from the fresh water tank.
The MH has two batteries and 4 different tanks to hold: fresh water, gray water from the kitchen sink, ...
... power. Luckily, it was still daylight outside. The staff apologized profusely while they scrambled around, trying to figure out what they should do.
After dinner, we continued driving up I-89. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous, with green rolling hills and mountains, and cows, horses, and sheep happily grazing in the lush green pastures. It was so much nicer than traveling on I-80.
We finally arrived in Alpine after 9pm, just as a big storm was coming ...
