For those who may not know, I am a great lover of Woodstock, the music festival held over 3 days in August 1969. I really believe that those people showed that peace, love and communal care - along with a massive dose of really cool music make for a great world.So, a pilgrimage for me to Bethel Woods (only 90 minutes from NYC) to the site of the concert and the fantastic museum that is now there. ...

Some young kids talk with such maturity, it is hard to believe how young they are, and then suddenly they break out in Christmas carols and the little person that they are becomes so apparent.

And it was in the scarcity that lied its charm. The town beach is tiny but view from one of the benches is good.   However the Hammonasset beach is huge and crowded. ... with the highway signs leading us to believe that we were traveling north. That means that looking out from the beach, we were actually looking south and Long Island, NY was out on the horizon. Long Island is acting as a barrier protecting the sound from the heavy wave action of the Atlantic. My son did get short swim in before we headed back to the campsite and prepared dinner.
