        ... starts with nutrition, first Preload hydration last night , another dose this am at least an hour before we go The key on the ride , hydration and food . Ride at our own "Tempo" range so as not to burn out before the last nasty "stinger" section . Will report back later ...

        Must say they are cute little devils. This one was eating a flower near the parking station. They are so lovely.
        Ken dropped me downtown to shop by myself for a couple of hours. I went to macys which was great. Similar to myer but cheaper. Then went to a little store and grabbed some lollies for some people. Met Ken and we had a burrito each for lunch, very yummy. Of course far too much food. We could have shared.
        Bit sad tonight. ...

        ... it. Hummus, baba ganoush, falafel Turkish salad and spiced chicken as an extra. A walk along the pier took us to the end of Route 66, and along the way we saw surfers, snakes, skateboarders, parrots, hobos and iguanas, all, we understand, are native to Santa Monica. On the way back to the car park with the most spectacular view of Santa Monica beach, we spent sometime chatting to a hobo who turned out to be a scientist who had lived in Chelsea in the 60's. ...

        ... at the Creekside Inn and got upgraded to a room with a balcony and right on the creek. Pretty sweet! We were looking for some chill time so we decided to head to the Cambria Pine Lodge. Little did we know that we'd be hiking uphill on a dirt path, oh well let's go. Once we arrived we found a lounge/bar with live music and a fireplace, perfect! Then we headed back down the path to another place with local food and wine, yum!
