It was not a comfortable ride at all. As Jude said, we used our imagination on what it would have looked like, especially in the fall. This is a ride I would live to come back and do. Of note, at the foot of the Cherohala, there is a visitor ...

... I know it is very hard for Ed to be "OK" with me going...across the ocean without him....knowing I don't speak a word of Spanish....hiking without a guide!!! (I can't even drive to Pittsburgh by myself for goodness sakes!!!) ....hard for him not being there to "protect" me. I am so grateful that he has the confidence in me....to encourage me to go...be safe...also to encourage me to cherish and enjoy every day of the journey....and ...

... and had scrapbooking in common. There was a core group who used
to chat a little everyday and we have made life long friends through
the group. Now, it is even easier to connect with Facebook. People
often laugh when I say I'm friends with people I've met online and
never actually met in person. It's not so safe to meet people online
these days but we've met up with plenty this trip who we've met back
