... the Low-country in South Carolina. She sang, talked about how the slaves coped with their circumstances and had us with our eyes glued to her the whole time! The fancy house in the background may look familiar as it has been featured many movies, the Notebook and the North and the South to name only two. The current plantation house, built in 1936 by Canadian Ambassador Thomas A. Stone, sits on the site of the original plantation home. We were able to go inside for a look. We ...

He does all the usual stuff like recommend places, restaurants etc but he will tell you a bit about each suggestion as well as provide unique things like a toilet map of the city, a map of where to get the best photos and a description of the way to take the shots. All of these extra maps, he created himself.

Unlike the plane, car or bus, you can get up and stretch your legs anytime, there is wifi and you can even charge your phone/ ipad at your seat. AND you get to see the countryside. Amtrak is my new favourite way to ...

When they were freed it was hard for them to start their new lives as most of the slaves didn't know where they were born or when or even who their parents were. Final stop and most beautiful was the dock house which gives a huge idyllic view of the creek. Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds got married ...
