Something different tonight but has some surprises. Free wifi which is very fast compared to the last 3 nights. Good old fashioned values - if under-age drinking suspected, police will be called, absolutely no noise after 11 pm, Continental breakfast is included in the cost which is less than many of the smaller places we have stayed in. room comes with fridge and microwave, 2 chairs at the table, one queen bed and bedside light on both sides. We can even open the window for fresh air and not have the air conditioner on. Breakfast is very limited - toast with jam or peanut butter, mini bagel with cream cheese, mini choc coated donut, coffee, juice and some tired fruit. What we expected for the price we paid

Wet morning as we departed Washington DC. Plan A was implemented - go to the Air and Space Museum near Chantilly near Dulles Airport. Arrived just on opening time, parked quite close to the entry and were in the building quickly because we did not have any bags for checking. Museum is HUGE. It is modern airconditioned aircraft hangars full of …

... darn delicious. We finished the meal by splitting fried cheesecake bites that we dipped in chocolate sauce. Okay so we ate like pigs but we split everything so at least it wasn't as bad as it could have been and we got in that great workout. Justified pigging out! At the end of the night we were stuffed with food, the Pats had conquered the Broncos and we were ready for bed. Another night and another ...

Day 157 Miles driven so far in RV is 9800 since we began this trip last May.   Today, we drive 150 miles from DC west to Blue Ridge Mountains and the skyline road  in Shenandoah national park. The road is windy and narrow but drivable. We ascend up over 3700 ft across the mountain tops. The Park campsites all full so we headed east into the valley towards ...

Wednesday, June 04 2014 Woke up around 7:30. Actually up in time to take advantage of the breakfast they have at the hotel! It was an okay spread, the usual - cereal, oatmeal, make your own waffle set up, apples, oranges, and bagels. As we hiked towards the trail, 3.8 miles away, we came to a stop light and a lady there asked us if we needed a ride to the trail head :) - of course we said "yes"!. Super nice lady, she was on the way to pick up her friend and take her to ...

We set off for Front Royal early and our first stop was for petrol but we were not able to find any on the freeway so took the exit that indicated a gas station, think we used half a tank finding one and then getting back to the freeway. We followed the freeway until we came to a rest area where we picked up a map and then decided ...
