    Old fashioned style motel

Something different tonight but has some surprises. Free wifi which is very fast compared to the last 3 nights. Good old fashioned values - if under-age drinking suspected, police will be called, absolutely no noise after 11 pm, Continental breakfast is included in the cost which is less than many of the smaller places we have stayed in. room comes with fridge and microwave, 2 chairs at the table, one queen bed and bedside light on both sides. We can even open the window for fresh air and not have the air conditioner on. Breakfast is very limited - toast with jam or peanut butter, mini bagel with cream cheese, mini choc coated donut, coffee, juice and some tired fruit. What we expected for the price we paid

Wet morning as we departed Washington DC. Plan A was implemented - go to the Air and Space Museum near Chantilly near Dulles Airport. Arrived just on opening time, parked quite close to the entry and were in the building quickly because we did not have any bags for checking. Museum is HUGE. It is modern airconditioned aircraft hangars full of …

We took a detour home since it was a nice day out and we left with plenty of time to be able to do this! We stopped at Dinosaur Land. It's a very small park, but one that was a nice little detour! They have over 40 replica dinosaurs that you walk along and see. There is a sign ...

... saw some people heading down a path. We decided to stop and go down the path as well. Now, here's a time where if we read the sign at the entrance to the path we wouldn't have done it and we would've missed out on something great. At the same time, we were both having some health issues because of it. We headed down the path. It was rocky, steep, and muddy in certain spots. But we were just walking with the family. We kept wondering how far this thing was and if ...

Since it turned out to be a beautiful day and didn't rain as we heard it was going to do, Caitlyn did a Rope Adventure! We're so happy that she overcame a few fears and didn't give up on a few of the more difficult obstacles. She took her time and did it! It was really great to see her so high up in the air and having such a great time. She spent almost an hour up there!

After leaving Daleville I had some of the larger climbs of Virginia in front of me. The Priest and especially Three Ridges were somewhat difficult, but I had beautiful weather so it was awesome. I hit Shenandoah National Park at mile 862 and was treated to spectacular views and easier hiking. The weather has been amazing and the hiking has ...
