Well, we left Nacogdoches this morning about 9:45 and pulled into the KOA in Rusk about 10:45. Boy, what a long drive!
We got into our site and got everything set up. Afterward, Bob came to me and suggested that we stay here a couple of extra days and then go into Mineola. So he went to the office and made the arrangements. So the change is we will leave here on Monday 24 Aug and drive the 75 miles north ...

So by now it is after 1, but I really wanted to see some of Nacogdoches. We drove into downtown and parked at the visitors center. We got some information and walked around the plaza for a bit. There are a lot of old buildings, but not original buildings. Many signs which say "...site of..." ...

Not sure what we'll do tomorrow, maybe just stick around here and see what history Nacogdoches can provide. I read somewhere that Nacogdoches is the oldest city in Texas. Also have to decide where we will go when we leave here on Tuesday.
