We woke up to sunshine which was the first we had seen in days so I was sort of feeling torn between racing home or spending a few moments checking out the Lake. We asked for some suggestions from the front desk and got a great tip to take the scenic drive up Prospect Mountain which was literally a few blocks away. The drive cost $10 but had several view points out over the lake ...

I went around front to yell up to mom (since I knew we had the windows open and were right above the main porch area) but I tried the front door and thankfully that was open. ... paid for it all and even bought my dinner. He got the hotel because he wanted to print maps, but he never ended up doing that. It seemed like a waste of money to me. 90% of the times that we've had showers at camp, he hasn't taken one, so I don't know why he'd get a hotel room. It didn't fit with his norm. We'll go over on the ferry to Vermont tomorrow, and then he'll start heading south as I continue ...

We had to take the hike up Prospect Mountain. It was almost 2 miles to the top and it was a hike straight up! It was a great hike and once at the top the views were fantastic. On a real clear day they say you can see a 100 miles. It wasn't that clear but we could see pretty good. We thought the only way up was to hike but found a big parking lot at the top. We are glad we did the hike ...
