Many properties here have just not held their value in the face of the economic times. We looked at many and it would be fair to say that a 2 or 3 bedroom home, with 2 or 3 baths, carport or garage and covered pool (on owned land) could be found for under $150,000. Taxes seem quite low as well. ...
... Square in Key West. Typically, a ceremonial fire is also built and to us, it is a perfect spot for people watching to be sure! (see the next entry)
Pretty much the pure quartz sand, the crystal-clear water and the serenity found here are the primary purposes to visit Siesta Key. All the rest is like whipped cream on top of the sundae. And quite a treat it is! Awesome. This beach rivals those broad beaches ...
... and the Intracoastal
The entrance sign says it is
certified as a "Blue Wave" beach by the Clean Beaches Council. Not sure exactly what this means but it was a different beach than many of the others in that it was more natural and certainly more rugged.
Heavy surf, lots of sandpipers and ring necked gulls. We plan to stop again and maybe try to find a shark tooth or two.
... in the lovely balmy evenings for bbqs etc, the bugs/mozzies would preclude that otherwise. All houses with pools have these, see the photo of Chuck's canal side setup which includes a spa too.
We have been doing all sorts of things here, mostly stuff that really doesn't warrant a national press release! Shopping seems to predominate, then pool slothing, walking the 2 dogs in the cooler times at evening usually, or reading and more slothing or swimming.
