After almost 8 hours on the road we finally made it to Escanaba and our lodging for the night: Sunset Lodge, an independent locally owned motel. They were very welcoming of us and our hounds. I was frazzled after my first hour in the saddle. I imagined the truckers were screaming, "What is that idiot doing on this road! They are going to get killed!"

... up when we left. Rob and Ben assembled a large gazebo and storage shed during our visit. They were challenging projects. Rob fell off the top of the shed and fell on his side. Knocked the wind right out of him. We think he most likely bruised or cracked a rib. He has been very, very sore but has managed with regular doses of ibuprofen. Downtown Sturgeon Bay was charming. All local folks so warm and friendly. Loved the accent. "You betcha". There was a ...
