10/9 – We packed up and left Nashville just as a front with severe thunderstorms was moving in. A great time to leave! Our destination was Bardstown, Kentucky, about 200 miles away. Bardstown is a small southern town with its claim to fame as the "Bourbon Capital of the World". It is the home of 5 bourbon distilleries including Jim Beam and Makers Mark. Bob explored the town and bought a bottle of local Bourbon while I stayed home ...
Stayed at a best western In Katy, just outside of Houston. Managed to get a decent deal on a good room that I'm sure the dude made an **** of. Got up in the morning and went to the big mall before hitting the road again. Drove all the way to where Jamie's dad used to work in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Another best western! The weather here is in the 70's and 80's in the day and 40'sand 50's at night. There is also a lot of wind. We sleep with the windows open and it's very comfortable.
I think we have been in one place to long so I am looking forward to moving on next Tuesday, March 1.
The next exciting adventure here is the launch of the space shuttle. It's still scheduled for Thursday and we are going to see it, something I have always wanted to see.
