No trip to the States is complete without a road trip, so we decided to drive from St Louis to Nashville.

We were definitely glad we did otherwise we would have missed views of the Great Plains, Rend Lake, Kentucky Dam and Metropolis, Illinois - home of Superman! The great museum is filled with Superman memorabilia and made a good stop on the way to our next stop and home of our good friend Ashley!!!

The room had a huge soaking tub which was great after a long ...

Next stop was Fort Boonesborough. This is the town founded by Daniel Boone. We got to see what life was like for the Kentucky pioneers in 1775. We saw a weaver, a carpenter, and a blacksmith. We also got to watch as they made charcoal. You simply start a fire, then cover it with dirt and ...

We spent the holiday weekend at the campground at Land Between the Lakes. Lots of families camping and having fun. A great place to ride our bikes. The Hummingbirds were at the Wildlife Learning Center and Preserve. They also had wolves, owls, bobcats, ...

... talking to Steve and less time observing the landscape. We have seen it all many times before. I only have a few photos today and they are quite lame. But I will post them anyway.

We drove through St. Louis and I tried my darnedest to get another photo of the arch, but I failed. The highway put us on the lower level of the bridge crossing the Mississippi and I could not get a good look at the arch or the river. I have ...
