Newport, OR - Day Four

Around every curve on Hwy 101 is another scenic spot; Seal Rock, Yachats, Haceta Head Lighthouse, and Sea Lion Caves to name a few. We drive the coast to Coos Bay where we stop at Hwy 101 HD where Laurie bought tee shirt and just around the corner we have lunch at Coney Station. As we head south on Hwy 101 we pass lots of lakes, rivers, and sand …

We drove from Seaside down to Newport, Oregon. Most of the day we dodged rain showers.

Our first stop was Ecola State Park. The fee to get into the park was $3.00. The views are spectacular. There are several rock formations in the water near the shore. There were several trees on the beach that were picked up by the incoming tide and …

Too early to check in so took at drive to Walmart and Fred Myer ...

Over 8,000 feet to minus 200 ft in 15 miles. After we got to the top on the other side (8000+ ft) the descent was spread out over a whole state - much more respectable! Stopped in the outskirts of Reno for a night, had a beautiful drive to Mt Shasta through towering forests and ...
