Sadly we dropped off one of our team, Kevin Moulton, at the airport on September 26. It was time for him to return home to his family in Tennessee. But before he left us, he and Doug worked hard to clean up the rental car so no damage - i.e. yellow paint from the taxi - could be seen. They did an awesome job.
So now it's down to just Doug and …
... for an early flight back to Perth/Karratha. Has been so good being a family again after such a long time.
Great hearing about their adventures and their lives in Karratha. They are quite keen for us to head over to Karratha this trip and spent some time in their patch .... still considering this as it's about a 5000k trip one way .

... the local pub to try and catch a break. Heading back later only proved to be exactly the same, the hot box was still boiling and we couldn’t open any windows without being infested by humongous mozzies. Turning the engine on for the air con was a no go as it would wake everyone up and being an old van…sorry car, we daren’t risk the battery on for too long. We were in for one very long, very hot, very itchy, very sweaty and very lopsided night! ...
... we had lunch.
We enabled ourselves to get to Noosa town proper, in
Hastings Street. This is where we expected to see the long awaited Ford woody
from 1946. After our long wait there she was, shinnin in the shade!!
A sign on the window said it used to be a local taxi, and
was restored twice. It also stated cost now is out of control!! Still the
pictures are free, so I took a few of them for your ...
... luxury - beds, TV, kitchen appliances, and our own room! Thomas and Lucy barely managed to take their eyes off the TV screen - they've been missing it so much!
Had a well earned rest here - beach walks, lazing around the pool, eating icecream, strolling the promenade, strawberry picking/eating and just catching up.
Just what we needed, before we embark on the final leg ...
