Day 4 started with phone alarm at 6 am, veggie mite on toast and good brew started the day that was reminiscent of chilly uk. Packed up and ready to go for 7.30am the long drive approx 4 hours awaits. iPod playlists with southern feel, van games, snoring and excitement grace us on the road down to Louisville for baseball game. It was brilliant proper American camping experience, southern heat, trains ...

... This morning's ride was slowed by milder versions of the same stuff. With everything soaked I opted for a hotel for tonight for rest and to dry out. Two days ago I was paused outside of Owensboro KY when a passing driver invited me for dinner with his family. He is a runner with curiosity about touring. I was treated to a very nice dinner of venison/ turkey meat loaf, kale chips and ...

... a downtown chain motel. Old
Louisville constitutes the third largest historic district neighborhood in the
U.S. and the largest one with almost entirely Victorian architecture. Ed took
me for a walk (I’m making myself sound like a puppy here) around the neighborhood
and showed me some of its architectural highlights – Saint James Court,
Belgravia Court, the Conrad-Caldwell House, and parks and churches. ...
