... so-wild west. We will explore all the places we've read about in text books. We will make history come alive in some respect, making it tangible and real. My kids are lucky enough to see these things as they are learning about them in school. I have waited 44 years to see these places and landmarks with my own eyes.

... Black and silver silos adorned the white farmhouses and red barns and cows grazed in some of the fields on dairy farms. And where there were no farms, there was dense foliage like that found in New England…pine and spruce and maple in various shades of green broken by spears of white birch trunks, and all of this adorned by a hem of yellow buttercups and goldenrod growing along the roadside.

Nevertheless, seeing family was grand and all in all, things were not as bad as they might have been. If nothing else, the ice made for some absolutely fantastic winter landscapes. I only wish I'd discovered the "sparkle" mode on my camera in time to take some icicle pictures with it.
... we came home and AJ made us an AMAZING meal of chicken parmesan. It was such a great last homemade meal in America.
Overall pretty great day and I am getting really anxious for tomorrow. We are leaving around 9am tomorrow, going to meet Tyler, my boyfriend (he is going to come with us to the airport to say goodbye :)), and then pick up mom at work to drive straight to the airport. I am flying with a few of ...
... row seats behind the Tiger's dugout gave us a great view. However, as the old song goes, "if they don't win it's a shame", as the Tigers lost to the Cleveland Indians. We had a good time anyway, eating sausages and pizza, drinking beer and wandering around the stadium.
Tomorrow we plan to visit the Detroit Institute of Art with Kelly and then hit the airport for a long overnight trip back to Honolulu.
