While listening to my most favorite song at the moment (Turtle, by Alana Davis), I've realized my trip has BEGUN!!!! It wasn't real until now. I'm sitting at my seat on my way to JFK airport, waiting for my dinner, and I don't really have much to say except that my excitement is finally here. No worrying, no doubting, just excitement. Well, it has been three years since I visited my hometown of Bend, Oregon. Mind you, we went home for a visit to see family a year and a half ago but we did not make it to Bend. Between Tim's family in Seattle and mine it just seems so spread a part when bringing the five of us across for a visit. So many miles in a car even after an all day flight across America. So... I thought why not drive ourselves this year all those many miles and then some... ...

... just like any other Carnival cruise, you show your boarding pass & picture id to (what always seems like) a really old employee who then gives you a health form to complete & motions you towards the "Walt Disney World" lines to go through security & xray checks. The line moves just as slow as the airports because there is always someone who did not empty their pockets. Mike did not put any rum runners in his carry on or pant pockets.
