... on blog duty tonight – that name regularly appeared in spelling tests as a boy, and I have never before had the chance to use it in anger! Of course we stopped for a picture and to dip our hands in the famously muddy water – but swimming was not really an option. And so we end up in a hotel in Iowa City, Iowa. Our 8th state of the trip. ... 70 miles an hour. Met a few people along the way. If I was retired, there were a dozen places to visit that I would have stopped for. One little cloud burst, temp dropped from 85 to 70 in a quarter mile and everything was wet. They may not be big here but they are mighty. The day ends in Minnesota . I thought to ride to Mankato to look for Laura Ingles, but 11 hours took its toll on me and so I found a little motel. Dawn comes ...
