... It is not well groomed or kept but we do see water, but with the exception of a few boats and a lot of weeds there is nothing to see here. “But where is the beach?” Obviously it is not here so we get back on the highway. Not far down the road we see a sign announcing Aspen Beach Provincial Park. We miss one entrance so take the next. We find the boat launch but again no beach! How hard can it be to find a beach on a lake? After a ...

... here for paint pigments. It looks like something from another world!

We also finally spotted an open "emerald pool"… just a little lake by the highway, but still a find for this time of year. A lot of wildlife here too!

Radium Hot Springs came up quite suddenly… the Kootenays are just gorgeous and I guess we got distracted. We stopped in at the Visitor’s Centre and ...

... think the problem is that coming from Banff to pretty much anywhere you just will be disappointed. The only thing I can liken this situation to is that it’s like shopping in Macy’s then ending up in Wal Mart. To add a strange flip to this 70s town I am staying in a golf resort. I know again …what the hell was I thinking?? Just makes me think about work…although watching the people scramble about playing holes in the rain ...
