... for the moment we are charging the laptop when we have power.

We were camped beneath very tall white gums, near a nearly dry creek and enjoyed some quiet time until a very hyper active family set up next door. We practised our keep cool under all circumstances code and managed to ignore the children whingeing and the parents nagging. The in ground fire pit enabled us to prepare some yummy ...
Warwick, Queensland, Australia whvanderpostSaturday, December 9, 2006 Alright, don't laugh, but yesterday I climbed a mountain. Yep, you read that right. It nearly killed me-I'm not exaggerating either: I was reduced to a puddle of gasping, heaving sub-human goo at some points-but I can safely say there's no better sense of accomplishment than after reaching the summit. I'm just as shocked as you are, trust me. It's not like I scaled Everest or anything. In fact it's a ...
Murwillumbah, Australia chattermouthSO... I did survive being attacked (maliciously and unknowingly I might add) but a treacherous Australian creature... a leech! =0) Hehe, and you guys were worried! Anyways, my friend Kayla came down Thursday evening and stayed with me until Sunday late afternoon, and in the three full days she was here we managed to pack in a TON of fun activities -- by the end of the weekend we had both gotten soaked on flume rides and water slides, made a zillion references to Finding ...
Mt. Tambourine, Gold Coast Hinterland, Australia stanzieI have said my goodbye to Melbourne with it's cafe culture and salsa scene and been greeted by the rainforest, soil, sunshine and children. It was a tearful departure, but one that needed to happen to enable me to continue my exploration of this beautiful country. My last weekend in Melbourne was a memorable one with the Latin Lover Ball. Everyone I have met through salsa was there so I got to have my last dance with many. Falen came along and it ...
Barringbar, Australia marisafindlayToday has been a funny old day. Getting right into the swing of his hippie stuff and took a funky bus called Jim's ALternative Tours to a little town called Nimbin today, Australia's marijuana capital. First we stopped at a great market just outside of Byron, then hit Nimbin around lunchtime. Smoking and selling Weed here isnt exactly legal as for the rest of Australia, though for some reason ...
Nimbin, Australia clairemaude... birds with a few pademelons thrown in and two, the average age of the clientele is 65. Not really a problem, but also not geared for Tim and Chris energy level. Still, we had some great food (they had this to-die-for macadamia nut pie... delish!) and a 23-km long, pretty (although wet) trek through the surrounding rainforest on Saturday. No complaints here, although my legs were pretty tired on Sunday...
South of Brisbane, Australia kstephens... the full picture. Before we started the circuit, we found out that this area had received four and a half inches of rain in one hour! We headed to the pathway, and could definitely see some of the effects of the downpour. The pathway was very wet and some of the stairs that were cut out of the rock on the mountain were their own mini-waterfall. Once again, the walk was a beauty. We saw more kangaroos, lizards, rainforest...you name it! On ...
Beaudesert, Australia mr-mrs_pickles... Catbird, that John now believes exists, (apparently it is very rare to see this bright green bird that screeches like a meowing cat), some lizards and some Eastern Grey Kangaroos - one with a baby Joey in her pouch! With all of these sights and sounds fresh in our minds, we headed back to the Mitchell home and enjoyed an amazing meal of spaghetti! SOOOO good!!!! This was just the start of our remarkable stay with the incredible Mitchell family. Hugs and Love, Dana and Trevor.
O'Reilly, Australia mr-mrs_pickles... can leave their beers until their next visit. We arrived at about 4.30pm and the place was pretty busy... quite a few 'utes' (pick-ups/bakkies) and old vans parked by the side of the road and a bunch of weather-worn farmers and their families gathered around the tables. "They might look like a rough bunch, but they're salt of the earth," Marion and Alex had told us, and it turned out to be true, especially of Neill, the Von Korffs' neighbour. With an enormous beard, tattoos ...
