... better than that of LSU.
Getting back on the road, we stopped in Cleveland to check out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The building was impressive, but the City was not. The displays were nice, but we weren't real R&R fans. There were lots of displays of old musical equipment used by the legends of R&R.
Back to the road.
... Guitars, guitars, and more guitars playlist on the ipod got us through almost 7 hours of driving, and by then we were down to the last stretch of the day. If all such playlists turn out to be so lovingly crafted and so perfectly geared for long stretches on the road then we're set...tooo bad I'm not quite the same level of playlist master...
The end of Day 1 found us in Cleveland, which was accommodating, although I ...
... and Roll Hall of Fame. The first day I spent in Bedford, and then settled myself in my hotel in Independence, just south of Cleveland.
Dinner was at Tom Evans, a place I had seen the commercials for, but with none in Canada, had never been too...YUM - Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy and biscuits!
We finally made it to Mentor, Ohio, so I could meet up with my great aunt (my grandma's sister) and her son (my second cousin). It was so good to finally meet them and my great aunt laughed just like my grandma used to :)
Not much to report from this stop apart from catching up with family and looking at family photos ...
... neighborhood. Not the best neighborhood, but then again not the worst. There is an ice skate rink sharing this parking lot and weeds growing out of the cracks in the asphalt. Josh wasn't enjoying himself but he got some grinds in. Like I told him, "Not every place will be as peachy keen." So we made do, skated for an hour then continued down the ...
Euclid, Ohio, United States rickjoshWe returned to Betsy's parents house from our time in Mexico. After throwing a few more things away - we took off in our car on a road trip to Cindy Snow's wedding in Arkansas. We visited our friends Bill and Chuck in Cincinnati, then we followed the Ohio river to the Mississipi. We stopped at some small towns along the way like Metropolis (the home of superman).
Berea, Ohio, United States betsypetersnowWe left Florida and drove to Berea via Winston Salem so we could visit Jed and Cecilie (Peter's nephew). When we arrived in Berea we spent the month of March getting Betsy's parents house ready to put on the market. The house market in Cleveland is horrible so we thought we better try to sell the house as soon as possible so they would be ready to move into their new retirement apartment in Chagrin Falls when is was completed in the fall.
Berea, Ohio, United States betsypetersnow... Finally, there is Quicken Loans Arena. This venue just changed it's name from the Gund Arena and is located next to Progressive Field. It is the home to the Lake Erie Monsters hockey team, the new Cleveland Gladiators arena football team and the Cleveland Cavaliers (who just won the first playoff game of the year against the Wizards today. Driving through the Square (the center of downtown), you will spot the Soldiers and Sailors ...

The musicians spent the entire afternoon in Kirtland, where they enjoyed a time of not only physical, but spiritual renewal. The Kirtland Temple was the most anticipated stop. The Choir, Orchestra and guests were divided into two groups—each having a turn to sing in the Temple while the other group sang for visitors on a grassy slope down the hill at Historic Kirtland.
Through the graciousness of the Community of Christ, members of the Choir filled the ...
