Historical Traveler Reviews of Cleveland Marriott Downtown At Key Center
Great Hotel
from BillDen
Stay here if you are going on a vacation to Cleveland. The location alone is worth the money. It is right in the middle of downtown close to all of the Sport venues as well as the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. The restaurants are average; however, there are plenty of great eating places within walking distance. The rooms are nothing fancy; however the beds are really comfortable. Keep in mind that you will probably have to valet the rental car. Overall, I would stay here again!
Great hotel & great service

We came to Cleveland to visit the Rock Hall of Fame, Hard Rock Cafe and Cooperstown Resturant. Our stay could not been better at the Marriott at Key center. Clean rooms and good service is what we received during our stay. The pool area could of been better, but the kids loved it. Breakfast at the hotel resturant was great. If you want to get a great hotel for a great price this place is for you!!!
Great Romance Weekend!

We booked a 1 night Romance Getaway Package and it was well worth the money! It included valet parking, chocolate strawberries and champagne in the room, breakfast for 2 and late check out.
Check in was smooth, and the view from our room was amazing! From the bed looking out we had 2 walls of windows with views of the lake, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Brown's Stadium, and downtown. Wow!
The chocolate strawberries and champagne arrived about an hour after we did and they were very good. The presentation was beautiful and it was very nice to sit and enjoy them before dinner.
Our package did not include dinner at David's restaurant, but I would highly recommend that you upgrade to the package the does. We had dinner at the restaurant anyway, the food was delicious and the atmosphere pleasant. We spent about $80 for the two of us, but you will save money by buying the package.
Our room was very nice and the beds were extremely comfortable. They have pillowtop beds with very soft and luxurious "down type" overfilled comforters. Pretty too. It was a great night's sleep. My only complaint would be that the bathrooms, although fully functional, were not as nice as the rest of the room. I think that they could use a little renovation.
Breakfast. Breakfast from David's was included with our package, but we choose David's roomservice. WOW! The food was presented beautifully and tasted great. They allow you a $25 room service for breakfast with the package and we were able to both get huge breakfast and only went over budget by $2! My omlet was so amazing it killed me not to eat it all!
We checked out over the hotel TV service, valet brought us our car, and we kicked ourselves all the way home that we didn't stay longer!
Pleasant visit, but anxious to see pool renovation

My husband and I enjoyed a very pleasant stay recently at the Marriott-Key Center Hotel. We had planned on going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and it was situated in a perfect location for walking and site seeing. We were impressed with the cleanliness of our room and the staff at the hotel. They were always friendly and very professional. We were a little disappointed with the whirlpool at the pool not working, but that whole area is currently under renovation. We would definitely stay again once the pool renovation is complete and enjoy an Indians game the next time. Thanks for a great stay and also knowing that you are upgrading your facilities for future guests. Lastly, the breakfast buffet was fantastic at David's!
Location perfect for concerts
from lisa222
Used the "2 for Breakfast" package, which included valet parking and breakfast for 2 in David's (from their website, for $175). We had a lovely corner room, view of the lake. They also gave us 2 free cocktails for our anniversary. Although the hotel was packed for a convention, service was great. We walked to Gund Arena for Eric Clapton concert (15 minute walk). Concierge was especially helpful with maps, restaurant reservations. Only problem is they need more elevators desperately!
Great stay

This hotel is a great location to stay at if your visiting the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Rock Hall is located approximately 1 mile away from the Marriott by foot. The service was great, we chose the Rock & Roll Package which included a free breakfast for 2 at the hotel's restaurant, David's. The breakfast is buffett style - make your own waffles, omelette station, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, bagels, cereal, fruit, oatmeal, pastries. It was quite good. The staff is very attentive and the rooms are very spacious with big windows. I plan on making another trip out there soon and I would definately stay at the Marriott again.
Very Nice Hotel

My husband and I had a great time at the Marriott. Best place to stay especially if you are going to a Cleveland Browns game. The Marriott is the closest hotel to Cleveland stadium - very short walk. The room we had was a corner room with lots of windows and a great view. Staff was friendy and game day is a big deal. Will definately stay at the Marriott again!
Improved Service - Tired Hotel

Stayed at hotel February '04 and noticed a dramatic difference from my last stay in November '03. Staff was very attentive and overall service was excellent. Unfortunately, this property has not be refurbished in the past 10+ years and it shows... They need a complete re-do soon or I won't stay again.
We had a blast

We arrived at the hotel around noon and the big power out hit us at 4 pm. The staff were wonderful, and dealt with the crisis professionally and with a smile. The meals in the lounge and restaurant were good and modestly priced. If you are going to see a Cleveland Browns game, this hotel is perfectly situated. It is just a 3 minute walk away. The warehouse district and the flats can be easily walked too, but are also a 4-5 dollar cab ride away. Check out the Nautica Queen cruises too.
The downtown Cleveland area has two malls, that offers some shopping, but there are no grocery stores. Luckily the hotel provides your basics including wine, and beer. We would definately go back to this hotel.
Convention comforts

Stayed recently during a three day convention. The front desk staff was extremely cordial and accommodating. Rooms very above average; the restaurants were overcrowded, possibly due to the subzero temperatures outside. Breakfast was much better than lunch but both were a little pricey. Valet parking good, but talked to a gentleman who had waited over 2 hours for his car (mine came in 7 minutes.)
