... to Yuyao. It cost only 22 kuai each, which is approximately 4.50$, and the train ride took only 25 minutes to get there. Barry came to pick us up at the train station and then we went to his house to meet his family. His parents are a very humble Chinese couple who have a large house by Chinese standards, and are really interesting to talk to. We had to speak to them in Chinese, because they don't speak very much English.

... Carmel, James and Emily (Economics, Business, English and English teachers) from Ningbo Zhenhai A Level centre plus John and a couple of Lithuanian female friends of theirs. We went to the Eudora Bar and then onto C for dancing. These were in Laouwai Town, which is the really buzzy area in Ningbo where there are lots of clubs and bars. We had a lovely evening, lots of fun, and good company.

In my first couple of weeks of being in China, I have met a great variety of people from all over the world. Upon my arrival at the airport, I was met by my new roommate, Patrick, and his Nepalese friend, Eric, who has been living in Ningbo for seven years now.
