      ... can't imagine they are selling much ice cream at that price. We checked into our hotel, which I quickly dubbed "The Hotel California", as it seemed we were the only customers, the elevator didn't really work, and while we had a portable heater in the room, the instructions were in Chinese and we couldn't get it to work.       ... to be the toddlers amusement, Mark makes him cry though!!! Not before long I end up in a family photo! The train does have a hot water dispenser, which amuses us, everyone uses it for noodles and tea.

      We finally get in at Guilin, an hour later than scheduled to be greeted by the usual taxi touts and some warmth. We roll into out lovely king size bed in our grand room and have a better feeling about this place. ...
