    ... goose bumps' when I woke her up. It was incredibly humid, and the moisture in the rooms almost blocked out the stunning river views, but we can still see the bamboo rafts gracefully going past outside.

    The hotel was a bit strange. There were lots of water saving signs in the rooms, but despite this we had a weird metal waterfall sink that seemed designed to deliberately waste it!

    ... rice paddies, vegetables, peanuts and orchards. The garden pots were being tended by local people and we saw water buffalo in the rice fields. This afternoon we visited The South China Pearl Museum and one of the staff did a presentation and then we watched a fashion parade of models in evening gowns adorned with pearl earrings, pendants and necklaces.
