... and just so you know, I have the best mother in the world.

We filled up with gas in Ashland and then took I-95 north to route 17 in Fredricksburg. Route 17 is the scenic route that heads into the mountains of Virginia. We ate sandwiches for lunch and dinner out of the back of the baby house. Bud did splurge
and get a post-dinner $8 McDonald’s #4. I got a 0.49 baby ice cream cone. All said and done, we made it 800 miles, spent $47.25 in tolls and $330.49 in petrol. We finally stopped, after 800 miles, at a very nice rest stop in Wisconsin around 11 p.m. (EDT) for the night.
