... miles from the Maine coast, we finally came out of the fog to a beautiful blue sky with a shore line of green spruce and golden rocks. We continued on to Bar Harbor but didn't get in until 5:30PM, so we couldn't clear customs. We found a town mooring for the night. It is a wrap! This first hike trip in the White Mountains has been really cool, it's a place to be reckoned with in regards to the weather and hiking conditions. There are really hard hikes (Osgood on the Southbound loop for example), and the hut system is an awesome example of great organization, environmental awareness, and just a bunch of cool, real people that care and it shows.
