... Island, and famed as New Zealand's sole French Settlement. We stayed at the Dolphins Backpackers. Not quite the backpacker place I was thinking of. This was a house that the owners had converted into a three bedroom accommodation for people much like myself, need a place to stay but always on the go. We paid $25 each. Not bad and the beds were quite comfy. A bunk bed, another single bed and a chair. I had the top bunk, considering I was the smallest out of the three ...
Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand madeloblea... once you have been to Te Papa in Wellington it's hard for others to compete.
Just in time for happy hour we found a little pizzeria around the corner. The spring chill hit us while taking a gander at Chch by night. The shopping area around Colombo St which we breezed through earlier was small & quiet possibly because there was a lot of construction in the centre as they revamp the stonework in the streets. Contrary to what I had been told ...
... piped into a series of pools to provide a selection of temperatures for soaking. The back pool was equipped with a huge waterslide so it wasn’t the serene environment that we had imagined. We worked our way up from the coolest to the hottest pools. With each new pool, we found a new group of people to disgust with competing tales of ‘worst euthanasia’ and ‘my boss is dodgy’.
The ASAVA awards night were held on second last day of the ...
... its botanical gardens, parks and charming rivers complete with punts its a little haven for lazy days with cups of tea and scones. Which is to no coincidence I am led to believe as Christchurch also has the tag of the most English city which is that evident its not really worth stating. As its not like Boston or Washington which has evidence of architectural influence with its universities or certain streets of houses with the famous red bricks of the ...
Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand elrigster... coat , large fur hat and multi-coloured scarf, with long curls cascading from beneath the hat, spent the whole trip taking photos of herself, or asking others to take photos of her. I can just see her when she gets home, wherever that may be...”Here I am on the Tranz Alpine Express, and here I am inside the train as we took off. Here is where I was sitting and here you can see behind me the beautiful snow capped peaks of the NZ Alps” etc etc etc. She was shooting a lot ...
Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand karana... leaders of YWAM, and speaks at most DTS's here in Oxford. He is a really great speaker, and the topic is really fresh and new for me. Most of the other topics I have already heard quite a bit of teaching on, but Lordship seems to get lost in Western culture and teaching.
... Island is home to Auckland and Wellington, apparently where most people live. I really wanted to see Wellington, but I guess I'll just have to hit it up next time around. So that leaves the amazingly beautiful South Island. And all the backpackers. With the poor timing and all of our flight, we didn't actually arrive in Christchurch until near 1am on Thursday morning, and we had planned to take a cab to our hostel. Fortunately, Paige had ...

Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand andreweasterI arrived in Christchurch yesterday evening, and 2 of the staff picked me up from the airport and drove me to Oxford which is about 1 hour away. We arrived at our house, I met a few of the women staying there and pretty much went straight to sleep. The next morning, we went to church down the street, and I really enjoyed the body of believers there. Then, we had lunch, and Shannon, one of the staff, took me on a tour of the base. Our school has 43 students ...
Oxford, New Zealand erincastillo... Christchurch on a very delayed plane. Waiting for passengers - so departed half hour late! The flight in over the south island was amazingly breathtaking. The coast line was smooth and flat with the rivers edging out into of the ocean. Suddenly little mounds started popping up through the clouds. The mountain range, dark with random patches of snow, took over the landscape creating deep crevices between large solid rocks (or so it looked ). Then ...
