... big, nicely laid out park so there's plenty of room to walk. A two mile long trail follows the east bank of the Rogue River and there's plenty of room along the interior roads to stretch road weary muscles. The park is like any Oregon state park that we have visited- well maintained. Unfortunately the manicured turf in and around the campsites has gone brown due to severe drought conditions but that didn't really detract from the experience.

As australians that aren't too worried about what we eat, we have very few questions of waiters and don't really demand anything from them at all. Lovely camp at Mamzanita, scattered among the trees, and lots to look at ...

Leaving Lassen-Volcanic National Park, the trail dropped from 6700 to 4300 feet, skirting Hat Creek before getting into town. When I arrived to the Hat Creek Resort, to my surprise, I saw Mr and Mrs Smith and Shepherd. Damn, I thought I'd ...

... What do you think Suzi, should I pick up another dog along the way? On a bad note my cycling computer died this morning. I guess I should have gotten around to getting that button battery, I've checked all of the roadside stores no luck. It is a little disconcerting because my food, water, and lodging stops are all based on altitude, and distance. At least I've had a week of riding to get used to the slow speeds, so I was pretty accurate on my planing ...
