... here we can drive into Chelan Washington and catch a ferry to Stehekin, the southern entrance to Cascades National Park. The ferry runs the length of Lake Chelan which is about 50 miles long. This body of water sits at about 1400 ft above sea level and its deepest point is 400 ft below sea level. The ferry ride took 4 hours one way and dropped us in Stehekin. Today started slow as usual. No matter when I get up I rarely seem to be able to cook, eat, lubricate, sunscreen, dress, break camp, and pack before 9:00am.
