We headed down to Cherokee, NC for a few days to do some Native American ancestry work for my girlfriend Kate. Kate booked this hotel as the price was right, it was centrally located and Native American owned. We were very happy with the hotel as it was in a nice location, it was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. When we go back down next Spring we'd stay here again.

My girlfriend Kate and I headed down to Cherokee, NC to do some research on Kate's Native American ancestry. She has done quite a bit of research trying to discover as many connections as she could while filling out her family tree. We made a Monday morning appointment with Eastern Cherokee Elder and "Beloved Man" Jerry Wolfe, who is a legend of …

Our last stop has been Gatlinburg, TN. We enjoyed our visit to the Dixie Stampede and Dollywood. Jim looked all over the place, high and low but never saw Dolly! We ran into the Compton's from Lexington who happened to be here too. We enjoyed having dinner together with Ben, Suzanne, Charlie and Nancy. It was nice to have friends to enjoy a meal with again.

... and things bigger than Ben Hur. And what do we notice, but there are hordes of people on the side of the road with deck chairs set up lining the streets. In parking lot after parking It are hordes upon hordes of classic cars. OK we get it, there must be a classic car show of sorts in town and given everyone is sitting in their chairs on each side of their main , there must be a parade. Nope! As we subsequently find, out, they are ...

Then, I hopped back across and finished up the trail at the base of High Falls. It was still another thirty minutes or so before the dam would open, so I took the time to walk around on the rocks at the base of the falls that would soon be completely underwater. There were a couple of cairns right at the base of ...

Kait took a swim in the afternoon.

In the evening we went for our second
experience at playing Bingo in a Yogi camping ground. This time it
was candy bar Bingo and much more enjoyable. Mainly because it was
dry. It helped that we won more candy bars than we put in! The movie
that night wasn't interesting to us so we hung out in the RV and had
          an early night.
