      We spent new years eve at Ober Gatlinburg, We rode the tram up. Unfortunately it was very crowded and took us 2 1/2 hours in line to get on the tram. Was pretty ride up to the top of the mountain. But once there they were making snow, and the mountain tops had snow from the night before still on the trees. We ate at the buffet in the restaurant that was excellent, Lot of food ...

      We met a couple here at the campground that we spent a good bit of time with. Randy and Frieda own a rental cabin wayyy up on top of a mountain called "kindred spirit".       The attendant got him awake and drove him off the track. There was a
      doctor on the scene and he helped us out. We called his parents and
      we took him to the emergency room where we waited for three hours. We
      prayed for him and he turned out ok. We ate at Cracker Barrel and
      drove back home. Needless to say we survived and it was a pretty good

      ... someone had spilled something on the floor of the shelter that attracted birds. Having birds eating in the shelter offended Randy, so much so that he attacked them with his walking sticks whenever they flew in until they finally gave up. I’m guessing Randy believes that animals have their place, and that place is not in human territory, such as trails and shelters. I’m not like that, though I can understand the logic of killing a venomous snake and discouraging bears ...
