We got some rest last night and continued on today. We're back to naps, hiding all the breakables, and trying to distract the little guy as would any parent of a two year old. It looks like he is having a lot of fun. We feel lucky that, at the moment, he seems to be adjusting well to his new family. We are so happy to finally be together.

Mel: Although NanNing was a city we were just passing through, we enjoyed some traditional cultural buildings and hidden laneways, amongst massive shopping malls. ... our seatbelts on.. A bit bizar! Poor little 5 year old beside us wasn't feeling well, so we gave him a motion sickness tablet, but unfortunately it didn't help, he kept being sick during the whole trip, poor wee man. As the bus ride was a bit longer than expected we tried to find thugs that we could do, So Clíona started reading her book while the rest got some extra sleep and watched the movie that was played on the bus (twice!) Finally we got to Guilin, only a taxi away ...
... morning you can meet people doing their morning rituals, practices, exercises. They are usually in the parks or squares or places where they can have some space, sometimes quietness. Here, in the park by the river, Chinese were also walking, playing, exercising, dancing, singing, practicing Qi gong and Tai Chi. This morning time is actually what I love the most about China! So, full of tears of joy, I was walking by the river and admiring what I saw around ...

No matter how many people waved the menu under our nose and shouted in Chinese we still didn't understand. Eventually, after K shook her arm horizontally while making a frying sound and repointing at the ingredients we finally got some veggie fried rice.
