A shorter drive today through the countryside beside Lake Cayuga and north to the American and Canadian border at Rainbow Bridge in Niagara. We had been warned not to arrive at the checkpoint late in the afternoon as lines can become long, so arriving early afternoon and finding only 4 cars ahead of us was a pleasant surprise. We booked into our hotel and grabbed a late lunch before walking down to the Falls viewing area. How spectacular are both ...

We followed the shore of the Niagara River so there would be houses there…many of them VERY large. There were turnoffs to numerous vineyards along the way. We didn't stop at any of them but the ones we could see from the road were lovely.

... closest place to hotel). Thankfully the weather was no colder than we had experienced the week before in England, so no nasty surprises there- but it was quite cold out. Tiredness setting in we decided to get some sleep and to take a good look at the falls in the morning. Alarms were set for 6am in order to catch sunrise and we were not to be disappointed! We can safely say we've had few better ...
