Happy Columbus Day from Santa Barbara. Spent the day touring the Santa Ynez wine country made famous in the movie "Sideways". We were picked up at our hotel by Grapeline Wine tours who took us on their vineyard picnic tour. It included stops at 4 different wineries with lunch in one of the vineyards.
Our first stop was at the Roblar Winery …

Headed to the Hearst Castle after a light breakfast and checking out of the hotel. We were able to get there in time to catch the 9:30 bus from the visitor's center to the estate. What a beautiful drive up the hill. The Hearst family still owns a lot of the property, in fact it is still a working ranch. Passed cattle and some Barbary Sheep while …

We decide rather than eat out we would have a pizza sitting out on our balcony. Two different types with salad and wine proved to be an excellent choice. A game of cards followed. Gill is still in the running for buying dinner on the last ...

... B lodgings were lovely but we dropped our bags & headed into Solvang to wander the Danish streets. It was odd walking in a town that seemed Scandinavian but full of Americans! As normal we ate ice cream, listened to Frankal moan about walking. We found a motorbike museum which the boys loved. The museum however was guarded (I use this term loosely, but can't say maned) by a lady who was utterly barking mad. I honestly thought we would never ...
