    ... headed north through the park through several 10-15 minute stops due to road construction. The route took me through Kings Canyon which also has numerous giant sequoias. From here I headed down the west side of the mountains which took me through numerous fields of fruit trees and wineries. I had lunch at a fruit stand just outside one of the fruit farms.     ... object of the game seems to be who can have the last laugh. It was us!! We drove away before the other guy could get a word in to end the insult.

    I forgot to mention how people wave to each other while driving. Did I also tell you how we got a bunch of papers that had to be put up around town. How Patrick assented to the extra duty with good humor through clenched teeth. Who else was going to do it? See, stewardship has its sacrifices.

    Hot and sunny 1st thing this morning. There was enough of a wind blowing to cool down to 80 last night, hehehe, much better than 106 day temp yesterday. Safe trip goodbyes to our fellow Trekers and we were back on the road.
