... very close to the causeway, making this area more or less a cul de sac. The only boats that passed by were the boats that belonged in the neighborhood. The most noise we did hear was the constant cacawing of the peacocks. Yes, there were peacocks. We never saw them but heard them all day long. Our friend informed us that many years ago, some domesticated peacocks got loose and multiplied exponentially in the wild. They apparently roam the neighborhoods and can be seen sitting on ...

The sun shone brightly on Miami South Beach this morning. Too lovely to waste, Gary and I popped down for a beach walk before brekky. The beachfront was already busy with joggers and dog walkers. The sand was being groomed for the beach bunnies, and the treasure hunters were out with their metal detectors. South Beach looks lovely in the morning sun, and it was a great opportunity to see the fabulous 1930's art deco buildings in daylight.
