    ... Santa Barbara. We started in sunshine and completed two thirds of it before the light rain turned into a serious downpour. We sat under a bus shelter for about an hour waiting it to abate. We share the shelter with a man and his shopping cart, who hummed/talked to himself. The rain did finally end and we detoured back to the hotel for umbrellas and rain jackets.
