Beautiful Mediterranean looking motel with a well equipped kitchen and close to the bay. The managers were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We even got free wifi (500mb) although it didn't work on our last night.

Awesome day today... We got onboard 'Dolphin Seeker', the Fullers Hole In Rock & Dolphin Cruise. Our first stop was to pick up more passengers from Russell then head up through the Bay Of Islands where we saw some dolphins playing on a reef off the island of Motukiekie. (Or island 9 on your tour for those of you that are lost :) We also saw New …

We must have been absolutely buggered last night because we all slept in this morning! We barely checked out of our hotel on time! We had planned to head to the Bay Of Islands fairly early but due to our late start we didn't stop in to as many places on the way as we would have liked.

We left Auckland about 10am and headed north and …

... more choppy and we realised that we were heading out of the bay and suddenly we could see the Hole in the Rock. A huge rock was sticking up above the sea's surface and at one end was an archway. The skipper took the boat closer so that we all had a good view and we could get good photos. Then she announced that she was going to take the boat through it. So we cruised through it. Very slowly of course as there was only about a meter and a half on ...

We thought it would be a shame to be in the bay of islands and not cruise around so we booked our day trip. It was so nice. Each island is more beautiful than the other and it is not crowded with tourists. There are about 4 boats, like the one we took, per day going around the area and it takes about 2 hours at quite a speed to go from one end of the bay to the other. Pretty quiet then.

... bacon and egg muffin for breakfast, it was very yummy! I also brought a bag of sweets for the plane and used up the last of my change! When the gate number showed up on the screen I walked down and it wasn't long before we got on the plane! The plane journey was brilliant!! There was a spare seat between me and the women next to me and I had the window seat, I watched despicable me 2, we're ...
