Beautiful Mediterranean looking motel with a well equipped kitchen and close to the bay. The managers were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We even got free wifi (500mb) although it didn't work on our last night.

Äntligen framme i Nya Zeeland!

No but there is outside the library til 5. Bizarre but argue not we duly tramped to the library. You just ...

In town I scheduled a cruise to the famous hole in the rock, which I took this afternoon, and a trip up to Cape Reinga and along 90 mile beach, which I will be taking tomorrow. After getting everything arrianged, ...

... times when stalactites hung down and were in our way. Our guide then led us on a walk through the bush back up and over the area. There were huge rocks, trees, greenery and a welcome wooden walkway.

We continued on our way and stopped for a comfort break at a small town called Kawakawa. Our itinerary didn't mention this place but when I'd gone online to see the excursion I'd seen a photo of some colourful bollards which gave ...

... with a hill! The size, the shape, the perspective, the background, the vegetation, the lighting! There must be hundred of thousands of differing permutations and they are all in NZ. (I'm coming over all descriptive, almost poetic! ) Learned on the car radio that there was a NZer campaigning to boycott Australian goods because some Australian companies were avoiding buying from NZ. Good idea! Power to the people! I'll avoid Countdown from now on! Well, ...
