Beautiful Mediterranean looking motel with a well equipped kitchen and close to the bay. The managers were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We even got free wifi (500mb) although it didn't work on our last night.

Awesome day today... We got onboard 'Dolphin Seeker', the Fullers Hole In Rock & Dolphin Cruise. Our first stop was to pick up more passengers from Russell then head up through the Bay Of Islands where we saw some dolphins playing on a reef off the island of Motukiekie. (Or island 9 on your tour for those of you that are lost :) We also saw New …

We must have been absolutely buggered last night because we all slept in this morning! We barely checked out of our hotel on time! We had planned to head to the Bay Of Islands fairly early but due to our late start we didn't stop in to as many places on the way as we would have liked.

We left Auckland about 10am and headed north and …

... it’s success statistics slightly! We didn’t have chance to go again so still have the voucher. If anyone is heading to NZ and wants to do the tour, let us know and you can have the voucher, it’s valid for two but you may have to pretend to be called Nisha & James!

We got off the ferry at Russell (an island opposite Paihia) to have a mooch around. This was a bit of a ghost town, it is winter after all. So we just treated ...

... was to go to Whangarei Waterfall which was worth the small detour. You start at the top and then there is a steep path which takes you to the bottom. At the top there is a pool in the river where some ducks were swimming about. At the bottom there is a sole duck swimming under the waterfall. Kathleen says she wonders how it got there and hopes it has not been washed over the waterfall. Just at that moment it flies away - Doh!

... serene. The water is such a pretty turquoise and blue....

I wish I had more to say, but today was just a day full of enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Oh yeah something embarrassing.. yesterday after we left Auckland I was enjoying the FINALLY nice hot weather we got (south island is COLD y'all...) and the waiter kept walking by yelling about happy hour. Well the special was buy 1 get 1 for $1. So i basically got completely trashed by the ...
