... Climbed several mountains on my way from SLC to Wells: 5,910, 6960, 6114, and 5118 feet.
I arrived in Reno on July 3 to visit with the grand girls for several days.
July 7 - Overnight to Kings Beach on Lake Tahoe with grand girls, Bernadette, and B's mom.
July 9 -- Travel from Reno to Sacramento, CA, over Donner Summit (7239). It's all downhill from there.
This was our shortest travel day yet. Only took a little over an hour to get from Reno to the quaint little town of Gardnerville. Looking forward to 2 days hanging with Harry's Godmom Ginny, her husband Shane, kids Alicia, Max, Sarah, my namesake Tina & Jessie. My cousin Ginny is one of the most creative teachers and moms I know! During summer break the weekdays have a theme and we were lucky enough to be here ...
... along with many of the other nearby buildings, was haunted; and that many of the hotel guests have had encounters with the spirits. The building also has historical value, in that in 1862 at this site Samuel Clemens became Mark Twain. The town was literally built on the side of a mountain, walking from where we parked to the main street we had to walk up what seemed like a 45 degree grade. We definitely had a great time this afternoon.
