Carson City Days Inn

... Feast! Growing up in South Carolina, deep fried turkeys are the way to go and oh so delicious, but this year we braved the oven to cook this years Turkey and you know what....it turned out great. Along with the Turkey, we filled the table with green beans, mashed potatoes, stuffing, biscuits, and cranberry sauce. Well, on Sa************** to San Francisco to meet up with a friend before our flight to LA on Sunday and from there we're off to Fiji!! Keep you posted!

Dad invited me out to the races this year and so he, Uncle Mike, and I went on the last day. Roamed all over the air field and saw some pretty sweet rides (check out the pics). They had the Blue Angels do a show and I was surprised to see the flag from the old homestead coming down with one of the parachutists (it was the AK Air Guard). All in all a good, if short, trip.

... wait till we had a few slides until I got wet and cold installing the cables, but after 1 hr 45 mins we arrived without the need.
We drove to Nash and Jen and met Nash's Mom and Dad who were also there for a few days.
Nash drove us 1/2 way around the Lake where we stopped for a couple of picture opportunities along the way. We headed over to a restaurant called "Sunnyside" which ended up being closed until 16:00. We grabbed a few more shots and also seen 6 ...

... the landscape to come. So far during our previsous days' drive there were never any dangerously long stretches of driving without a gas station or town. Day 10 was tons of nothingness.
Around lunch time we passed through a relatively large patch of civilization with a big gas/ rest stop and a few places to eat. I was deterred by a sign notifying me that picking up hitchhikers was prohibited because of the proximity to the local prison. Yup, I'm a wuss ...

Me, grandma, and the kids touched down in Reno around 930pm. Brett was still at Wal-mart when I called for pickup, he had flown out earlier in the day to complete the final walk through and check of our new RV. I could not believe it when he pulled up, wow. ... Lake was a beautiful lake and we got house envy looking at the log and cedar sided homes along here. (Hmmm…maybe we should’ve tried to hit the jackpot at Harrah’s???)

Autumn here was beautiful but the most beautiful sight of all was the most spectacular sunset on our trip, which you'll see in the photos. No color enhancement with these pix - the colors were that intense.

Next stop…Yosemite National Park.

... the lake. Lake Tahoe is split between California and Nevada. In South Lake Tahoe there are no casinos on the Califronian side but as soon as you cross the state line into Nevada there is a casino.

Back in Reno, I went back to Fitzgeralds to try my luck again and ended up being 70 up by the end of the night. I thought that was a pretty good result and hope that I will have even more luck when I get to Vegas!

The second day of our trip started out well. We were already ahead of schedule, and the terrain that had to be covered was by no means demanding, so we set off early from our motel and set out for Placerville.
