... deep blue in color, still and calm, reflecting images on its surface of the trees and mountains around it. ... purely to see what a University town/campus looks like. Unfortunately we opted to eat our breakfast in the wrong end of town because we hadn’t set up a proper stopping point in the sat nav. The food was fine but we lost our map of the USA in there which we were gutted about, it had been handy in stressing us out whilst driving as we used it to second guess the sat nav all the time.

... br> Down at the lake they had a floating pier which was very cool and we walked out on it and when we looked in the water it was all sparkling with gold because all through the sand is fools gold so it makes the sand sparkle under the water, it was very beautiful. Madi was amazed and wanted to bring back some sand but Daddy didn't think it would make it through customs! We tried the water and it was very cold.

... a chance we were taking as there isn't much as far as repair facilities anywhere in between Jordan Valley and Winnemucca.

Most of the area through which we traveled to get to Winnemucca is rangeland. Some of it was burned last year in a fire that wiped out more than 40,000 acres. Everything is pretty dry as they too had a dry winter. As we got closer to Winnemucca, a little irrigation began to appear.
