There's No Place Like Home!

... for our good health on the trip and the flawless performance of our motorhome, Riley (the only request it made was for two new headlight bulbs). We drove 11,875 miles, got about 14 mpg and arrived home safe and sound. We gained a new understanding of a little corner of the world we previously knew little about.

Thanks to all who followed us on our blog and a special thanks to those who sent their comments - they were much appreciated.

I do not own any sandals and did not bring along any old trainers to use, but came up with the idea of bringing a pair of shoe laces to thread around my flip-flops, thus turning them into makeshift sandals. It seems to work pretty well. The first river ford is very easy as the water is shallow. ... s time to go and find our friends and have an enjoyable evening to end our great adventure in Reno..Have to say it was not what I expected, and that is a good thing! Cross that and a couple more off the bucket list! ;)
Fun times ... and I think I now have Iceland and Sweden on my list.... for a long visit

We woke to a beautiful, sunny day that got warmer and warmer. We collected on our free continental breakfast which was a selection of toast, English muffins, packaged danishes and coffee. No tea available. I always carry extra tea bags though and had the lady at the desk nuke some water for me so it's all good. We drove through lots of desert and rolling hills enroute to Reno. ... by chance during well drilling. The well went out of order after several decades of operation, as warm geothermal water has found a weak spot and began to leak onto the surface. Dissolved minerals started their sculptor job, which is still going on. Geyser coloration is explained by the variety of minerals it is made of.
