... Lighthouse that Brain and Mike were able to climb the 267 steps to the top. Mike complained the whole time to Brian about his ankle hurting, to stay away from the short hand rails, and to stay away from the edge once on the top. Brian keeps calling Mike a chicken. Mike claims the deathtrap rusty stairwell is 150 years old and ready to give way at any moment. We couldn't take the baby up so I stayed with her since I have ...

First day of riding was 68 miles long after the "dipping of the back tire" in the Atlantic Ocean. Nags Head town Mayor came out to send us off, and I thought I even had a picture with him, but turns out the lady taking it took a video instead. Oh well!! Scared to death of snakes, and on day 1 I saw three on side of road, and swerved into ...

We were surrounded by a marsh land, known for its snakes and turtles and occasional bear (?!?). However I only saw the former two. We broke into smaller groups and made it to the lunch stop pretty quickly. I had a nice long lunch that included ...

... dipping ceremony. We dip our back wheel in the Atlantic and the front wheel into the Pacific. I've attached some of those pictures too. For our 60-something mile ride today, we stopped and ate lunch and then stopped a few more times to stretch it out and loosen our legs. We were riding against the wind all day long. It was especially windy as we were crossing ...

... Wildlife Refuge. After passing through Swan Quarter on US-264, we turned onto NC-94 and headed towards the overlook in the middle of the lake. It was just starting to get light out and the sun would be up soon. But it was extremely cold, especially with the wind blowing off the lake. We bundled up as we set up our cameras and got a few pictures of geese on the water and a beautiful sunrise over the lake. From ...
