... Usually Napier is one of our favorite stop-over places on our way north
or south. Well, this time we stopped and stayed for a week for fun.

In 1931 an earthquake and subsequent fires all but destroyed Napier. It has been rebuilt in the Art Deco Style which was popular at the time.

... the longest uninhabited part of our trip so far, about 130km!! Get to Napier and find motel which is right opposite where Jack is doing his dive tomorrow. Its a lovely room with a huge spa bath in the bedroom area!! They seem obsessed with spa baths over here, all the motels have big signs advertising that they have spa baths. Jack now wants on in our front room lol!!
