    There are innumerable trails in this part of the country, and I could spend a whole month here and the nearby towns of Ouray and Telluride no problem. The guidebook I have allowed me to pick a couple of the best, and as I realized that I need a break from this solo traveling, these turned out to be the only two hikes I'd do in Colorado.

    First was a hike east of Silverton, up several miles of dirt road to the trailhead of the Highland Marys Lakes ...

    ... closed, surprising for a friday night. The is one store though i must return to so i can get a special necklace for my niece Samantha. I like this town, it seems genuine. Tomorrow up thru Ouray, then Gunnison? High altitude hikes too along the way. Not many iphone pics for this round, i used my normal camera to much and forgot...thank you all for bearing with my less than perfect spelling and punctuation on this, i am racing against batteries and a funky keyboard...and simply time ...
