Drove to Eufaula State Park...another gigantic, over sized park, just huge with golf course, air strip, nature center, and no one here! We got a real nice site on a bluff overlooking the lake (Lake Eufaula, a man made Corp lake). Water is grayish. Wouldn't want to swim in it but see that they have a swimming area. $26 for ...

... are the top of a plateau because all the trees are gone and you just have these rolling hills of grass. Once you cross the Oklahoma border, you are back into the treeline. Because it took over an hour and half to get lunch (note to self ... don't eat at the Chili's in Alexandria, LA), we didn't pull into our hotel until after 8pm. Made for a very long day. Two more long days of driving ... but it will be worth it in the ...

... in OK and very windy and it looks like it has the red clay underneath it. The nicest sites are the pull-throughs right next to the water sites C22-32 but those are first come. Reservations can be made for some of the sites. Tables to cut up your fish were at every site since this is a big fishing lake. Bath houses were not that clean but it was in the late afternoon ...
