When we woke we looked outside saw several elk grazing through the campground. They were all very close by and seemed very comfortable being around people. As we drove through the north end of the park we saw more elk and also a small herd of pronghorn antelope. This route took us through Gardiner Montana. This is a small and very western looking town. ... The rural nature of the mountainous BC makes this a regional business center.
Our previous week had been filled with spectacular beauty, but once again we were unprepared for the beauty of today's drive through the Columbia and OkanaganValleys and the mountains and rivers that shape them. I was also impressed with the quality of the highways in spite of the elevations and apparent challenges of harsh winter conditions. The beauty of British Columbia continued to blow us ...
