... House where were staying for two nights. Turned out there weren't any options for dinner as the few restaurants in town weren't open on Wednesday night! Fortunately, we ran into Jim, the owner of the Water Street Tavern. He said he was opening the following day and we promptly made reservations for a window table.

Had another great day for driving so away we went through Maine. Made it across the border with the friendliest border guard we've met in a long time and stopped for the night at the Winsome Inn in St Stephen. What a great place - large, super clean room, able to pull right up to the door. Stayed in ...

... a hard time finding a place. We stopped at the post office to buy some lighthouse stamps and asked them where to eat. They said the only places left were 2 take out place. These places were basically mobile homes made into small kitchens to run a takeout business out of. We were also advised to have the halibut burger which we did. These burgers were so big we could have shared ...

... several photos. Upon leaving Acadia we made a stop in Ellsworth, Maine to visit the L.L. Bean store that we missed on the way in. We were now ready to continue our trip up the coast. We made it to Calais, ME by late afternoon. At this point we had completed our trip up the east coast. Any further and we would have been in Canada. We will now travel on route 9 to Bangor, ME where we will rest for the night at Fairfield Inn.
