Another early start - on the road at 8:45 am. Dirk figured out how we missed the play last night - we hadn't moved our clocks into Atlantic Time! Duh. Our first stop was Hartland Covered Bridge and then Covered Bridge Potato Chips! Yum - ate a bag of Dill Pickle in the car. We arrived in St. Andrew just after 2 pm. It is such a cute little town. We were hungry so we found a little place that fries up fish and seafood. I ...

Had another great day for driving so away we went through Maine. Made it across the border with the friendliest border guard we've met in a long time and stopped for the night at the Winsome Inn in St Stephen. What a great place - large, super clean room, able to pull right up to the door. Stayed in ...

After dinner we enjoyed a presentation from a man who had several audio clips of Eleanor Roosevelt herself recounting memories and events from her life, such as when her husband was stricken with polio. Listening to her voice, on this island, in a room she surely must have spent time in while visiting her neighbors, was a very special ...

... several photos. Upon leaving Acadia we made a stop in Ellsworth, Maine to visit the L.L. Bean store that we missed on the way in. We were now ready to continue our trip up the coast. We made it to Calais, ME by late afternoon. At this point we had completed our trip up the east coast. Any further and we would have been in Canada. We will now travel on route 9 to Bangor, ME where we will rest for the night at Fairfield Inn.
