Another gorgeous, sunny day
After haircuts in Amherst (a little short in Robert's case!) we drove the amazingly wide and deserted Canadian highway to St Andrews, where we stayed in a historic inn with the best bed we've had since getting off the ship.

Day 8- Sailing and Whaling
Loved our visit to Acadia National Park but decided to try and experience some of Canada as well. It was a tough call, as you could easily spend the entire time at Acadia-so many things to see and do. The park rangers at Acadia were very kind and refunded our reservations for the extra nights with no problem. We will be coming back!

Day 6- Day trip to Campobello
... Today we drove back to the mainland and along the coast to Winter Harbor and the Schoodic Peninsula section of Acadia National Park- nice views back to Mt. Desert Island along the way.
We then drove to Lubec, Maine and had lunch overlooking the bay at "Inn at the Wharf"-lovely views. After lunch we crossed the Canadian border to Campobello International Park and toured FDR and Eleanor's summer home ...

Day 14: Bangor, ME (Fairfield Inn)
Before leaving the park we paid a visit to Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor is a really nice small town just outside of Acadia National Park. I could tell immediately that Bar Harbor is a favorite among visitors to Acadia National Park. There were a number of tour buses unloading and many more that were parked. We visited a few shops and toured the waterfront of Bar Harbor. The waterfront offers some nice views of the harbor and of course ...
